The Five Times The Skully Series Has Been Stolen to Scam The NFT Community

We must be doing something right, this art must be so amazing that others in the NFT space have tried to take the artwork and claim it as their own.

Since the start of the Official Skully Series (now I know why some celebrities have taken to using the word "Official", I guess we have also reached CELEBRITY STATUS!) way back in Summer 2021, we have found at least 5 fake Skully Collections on various platforms and have been successfully shutting down their scams with special thanks to our Skully Artists and Collectors. 

Of the 5 fake collections, we found one on Elrond Network, three on OpenSea with one of those stealing our Instagram word for word and post for post. The latest scam is coming to Solana by way of a scammer named Skull-King sporting the Skully I created on commission: Skully Bitcoin King. 

1. Elrond Gold
I was alerted to this scam in early November 2021, my twitter started blowing up with messages and RTs of someone promoting my Skullys under a different name. I was in shock! 
By the time I was able to understand what the tweets, retweets and response tweets were saying, the scammers had disappeared. 
What I did find out was that a few scammers had started to promote our Skullys as an up and coming NFT series coming to Elrond Network. That was my first time hearing about $eGLD and the fresh new community of NFT artists and collectors. They were all super friendly and shared as many screenshots as they were able to save when the scam began. whew!

These were quickly handled by way of OpenSea.
I got a message on IG from a Skully collector with screenshots and links to an IG profile and opensea collection selling our Sullys. I looked through the IG account and sure enough, they were using our Skullys. 
I found the OpenSea account and reached out to Support to help me take it down. As I was researching the fake collection, I found two more OS accounts with our Skullys! I was able to fill out enough forms online to get OS to take down the fake collections. I did reach out to some of the fake collectors to let them know they were being scammed.

See attached conversations below with one of the Discord moderators: Skull-King using our Bitcoin King Skully NFT as their PFP. In their Discord #sneakpeeks, he is posting our Skullys as if they are fresh from the artist. 
In my conversation with Skull-King, he admitted to not knowing the artist but only meeting the artist by way of Fiverr. 
This latest scam started March 1 and they are scheduled to mint on Solana on March 14. STAY AWAY!!! 


At the end of the day, I think 90% of the scamming NFT collectors are the actual scammers. Their public  profiles are new, very little info shared, lots of shilling and then they disappear once the scam is uncovered. 

The 10% were legit NFT community members looking for ways to build something that will last. Please, take the time to do your own research and help Protect the NFT Artists. Protect the NFT Art Collectors. Protect the NFT ideals.
